The New Forest National Park
Sopley Cottages are on the edge of the New Forest National Park, 90,000 acres of stunning scenery.
Walkers, cyclists and riders all love to explore the New Forest by foot, bicycle or on a pony. Bicycles can be hired locally or you may prefer to bring your own and store it in our under cover bicycle store.
The National Park stretches from Southampton to Bournemouth: the Bournemouth beaches, Lymington, the Solent and the Isle of Wight are all easy to get to. Boats and paddle boards can be hired at Christchurch harbour.
The Village
Sopley Cottages are located in a quiet corner of the village of Sopley on Mill Lane next to St Michael & All Angels church.
The Woolpack pub is located in the centre of Sopley village, two minutes walk from Sopley Cottages. The pub can provide you with breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a few drinks should you decide to have a break from the kitchen during your stay.
The Sopley Mill wedding venue is also in the village and many couples choose to marry or celebrate their wedding in this romantic and private riverside venue.
Food & Drink
In addition to The Woolpack in the centre of Sopley village, there are many other pubs and restaurants within easy reach of Sopley Cottages.
The New Queen at Avon, the Avon Tyrrell Estate pub, is only a few minutes drive away and can provide you with a warm welcome as well as freshly cooked and locally sourced food.
Christchurch and Ringwood are both about four miles from Sopley Cottages and have a range of places in which to eat and drink.
If you have something special to celebrate The Chewton Glen, Lime Wood and Rick Steins at Poole Harbour are all near by.
Beaches and beyond
The world famous Bournemouth beaches, Lymington, Beaulieu, The Chewton Glen, The Pig and Lime Wood Hotels, Poole and Christchurch harbours, the Isles of Wight and Purbeck and the Dorset Jurassic Coast are all within reach of our lovely cottages.
